you didn’t beat me, every night

the way he did to you

you didn’t rage and spit and swear

you buried it all deep

so you did nothing

you gave nothing

emotion escaping out in fits and spurts

praising the perfect automaton

ignoring the real human child

a piercing cry, a shuddering step


it’s too loud, too angry, too unforgiving

never forget

you brought this

you did this

you think i’m not angry?

you think i’ll forget it all? oh i just didn’t understand

you had it so much worse

that changes my experience entirely
